The Secular Fellowship is currently engaged in setting up Grief Support Groups throughout Scotland.

Although the Secular Fellowship is strictly a non religious organisation, the Grief Support Groups are open to anyone who has been bereaved and who feels that a modicum of support from others who have been, or are still, in the same situation could be of help.

Please do not hesitate to come along and find out for yourself if our group can be the sympathetic and practical assistance you might be looking for.

Membership is absolutely free and no one will be looking for ‘contributions’. Our Grief Support Groups are not a grief counselling service but simply a group of people who share a common distress that can frequently be relieved by simple help from others in the same situation.

The principles by which our Grief Support Groups operate.

  • Although the Secular Fellowship is the prime sponsor of this completely non-religious Grief Support Group, within this group your religion, or non-religion, is entirely a private matter between you and your conscience. The Groups do not promote any religious or non-religious philosophy.
  • The GSG is open to anyone regardless of sex, creed, ethnicity or sexual orientation
  • Confidentiality is our primary rule. What is said in the group stays in the group.
